Vice president Yemi Osinbajo acts as acting president over the Federal Executive Council meeting

The meeting was held on Tuesday, June 14.
 President Muhammadu Buhari handed power to vice president following the latter’s travel to London to treat an ear infectionOsinbajo will serve in acting capacity for the 10 days during the president’s absence. This is the first time President Buhari is transferring power to Osinbajo since they both came into power in May 2015.


This will be the second meeting Osinbajo will chair in the absence of the president, as he presided over his FEC meeting last week.

In the last meeting the council prayed for the president and three other ministers who were ill.
